Hatteras Fishing Report

Offshore boats were at the dock again yesterday and today as swells from Hurricane Larry pass off the coast.

Inshore boats did get out and caught some very nice Red Drum with several boats getting their limits. We also saw good Speckled Trout and Bluefish catches.

Offshore fishing has brought mixed catches over the last few days with some boats finding big schools of Dolphin, while others have had Wahoo, Tuna, Barracuda, Triggerfish, Tilefish, Grouper, and Sailfish and Marlin releases.

Not much to report for offshore boats over the last few days as they've been held to the dock due to weather.

Inshore boats still managed to get out and had nice Red Drum catches, along with Bluefish and Speckled Trout.

Fishing picked up slightly for offshore boats over the last few days with catches of Wahoo, Dolphin, Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna, and various bottom fish. We also had several billfish releases, adding in some more excitement (and work) for our anglers!

Friday and Saturday brought in mixed catches offshore. Some boats had limits of Dolphin, others were a little more scattered. We also had catches of Blackfin Tuna, a couple of Yellowfin, Tilefish, Amberjack, Barracuda, and a Sailfish release.

We saw a bit of a pickup in offshore fishing on Thursday with boats bringing in catches of Dolphin and Wahoo, and we're starting to see more regular catches of Yellowfin Tuna again. We also had a small Blue Marlin release.

Offshore fishing remains on the slow side overall. We did have some boats with nice catches of Dolphin, Wahoo, Tilefish, and a Sailfish release.

Inshore boats did well with Red Drum and Speckled Trout catches. Some scattered Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish on the oceanside as well.

Offshore fishing has been mixed over the last few days. We had cancellations due to swells from hurricane Henri. Fishable days brought in mixed bags of Dolphin, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Barracuda, and varieties of bottom fish.
